Side Event: Global Ocean Data Sharing
A Key Enabler to Inform Science, Management, and Policy Development
This high-level networking event will discuss why and how the public and private sectors can contribute ocean depth data.
This event on seabed mapping and bathymetric data sharing is co-organized by the Ocean Decade Alliance, Ocean Decade Corporate Data Group, IOC/UNESCO, the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), GEBCO, The Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 Project, and UN Global Compact.
The side event could be of interest to any government, private sector company or organization that contributes to or benefits from ocean data. It will be particularly relevant to anyone who can influence the regulatory framework around data sharing within waters of national jurisdictions and private sector organizations who acquire, hold, and can share bathymetric data.
