The IHO Calendar contains information about meeting and events that are of interest to Member States, Industry Stakeholders, and Non-Governmental Organizations. The calendar events have been grouped and colour coded as follows;
ENC Data Protection
Introduction The IHO Data Protection Scheme defines security constructs and operating procedures that must be followed by Data Servers (providers of data) and Data Clients (systems that use the data). The purpose of data protection scheme is to provide: 1. Piracy Protection: i.e. to prevent unauthorised use of data by encrypting the ENC information. 2. Selective Access: i.e. to restrict access to ENC information to only those cells that a customer has been licenced for. 3. Authentication: i.e to provide assurance that the ENC data has come from approved sources

IHO S-100 Sea Trial Areas
In preparation for the operational implementation of S-100, several IHO Member States and Industry Stakeholders have undertaken sea trials and testbeds, labelled as "IHO S-100 Sea Trial Areas", to evaluate the effectiveness and operational readiness of the new standard. These trials allow mariners to experience S-100 products and services under real-world operating conditions, providing structured feedback that informs continued development and highlights achievements to date. The following presents a selection of results obtained thus far: Member States and Industry Stakeholders wishing to have their own S-100 testbed initiative or project recognized and labelled as an "IHO S-100 Sea Trial Area" are invited to submit their request here.

Standards pending entry into force
This page provides a list of IHO standards and product specifications relevant to ECDIS that have been officially published but are not yet in force. These include standards that have been approved and released, but whose implementation dates are in the future, as defined in the S-100 Implementation Roadmap. Only standards that are intended to be implemented in ECDIS are listed here. Each entry includes the publication date, the scheduled date of entry into force, and any applicable notes regarding transition periods or dual-fuel operations. ECDIS manufacturers, hydrographic offices, and system integrators are encouraged to regularly consult this page to prepare for upcoming requirements under the S-100 framework and ensure timely compliance.
