The IHO Strategic Plan defines the organization’s priorities for the coming years.  During the 2020 Assembly, Member States voted on a new Strategic Plan which now includes Goal 2 to increase the use of hydrographic data beyond nautical charts and Goal 3 to increase participation in international initiatives on the sustainable use of the oceans. These confirm the IHO is now also clearly committed to reconciling the use and the preservation of the marine environment.
